Navy Awards $3.5 Million in Task Orders to Engineering Services Network
ESN to Provide Combat Systems Engineering and Systems Integration for the Fleet
ARLINGTON, VA (Sept. 20, 2013) – Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), an engineering and technology solutions company that provides services to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, has won $3.5 million in new task orders from the U.S. Navy to conduct combat systems engineering and systems integration.
The awards to ESN include a follow-on task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division of $956,500 for casualty report (CASREP) and Combat System Maintenance Coordinator East Coast (CSMC East) services; and $2.6 million delivery order for Combat System In-Service Engineering Agent (CSISEA) support.
The services ESN provides are critical for aircraft carriers, amphibious units and their strike groups, so they can maintain a high level of mission readiness with full operational combat system capabilities.

Lopez, Jr. “They support the Navy’s government combat system engineering experts at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, who, in turn, ensure fleet aircraft carriers, surface combatants and embarked units’ combat systems are fully operational and mission ready.”
ESN’s mission is to establish an engineering resource for planning and coordinating the installation of Combat System, Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Systems in aircraft carriers and other strike group or strike force units, including LHA, LHD, LPH and other L-Class units. In addition, ESN’s team will evaluate design concepts and develop technical documentation to support these efforts on current and proposed Combat System and C5ISR programs.
One effort that ESN performs under the contract is to integrate products and processes across operational and maintenance programs to support the Type Commander Ship Maintenance Program Manager for each aircraft carrier.
ESN provides a Combat System Maintenance Coordinator (CSMC) to each aircraft carrier, co-located with the assigned ship, and provides program management, engineering and technical services in support of ship modernization, overhaul, alteration, maintenance and repair programs.
Specifically, ESN assesses combat system and C4ISR installation readiness, identifies and corrects readiness shortfalls, and provides related support in assessing combat system requirements and deployment readiness.
The Combat System In-Service Engineering Agent support is another effort that ESN performs under the contract and involves support to NSWC PHD In-Service Engineers and NAVSEA PEO IWS 10. ESN also develops and/or modifies Combat System Interface Diagrams, provides engineering and technical services to the Passive Counter-Measures System project for aircraft carriers and other strike group ships, aircraft carrier and amphibious ships.
To perform the task orders, ESN’s veteran team includes 21 full-time and five part-time employees in Port Hueneme, CA, San Diego, CA, Norfolk, VA, Washington, DC, and Berkeley Springs, WV.
