ESN Names Nichols Director of
New England Operations Navy Veteran Brings 35 Years of Technical and Military Expertise
to ESN Team
ARLINGTON, VA (Jan. 3, 2007) – Engineering Services
Network Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in engineering and technology
solutions based in Arlington, VA, has named Dennis W. Nichols
its director of New England operations.
A Navy veteran, Nichols brings more than 35 years of experience
in the defense and private sectors to ESN, a service-disabled,
veteran-owned company. In his new role, Nichols will have the
primary responsibility for all operations activities, including
marketing ESN’s services to Department of Defense customers
in the New England region.
“Dennis Nichols brings a wealth of experience and capabilities
to the ESN team,” ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez
Jr. said. “His technical expertise and know-how will
help propel ESN forward as we work together to deliver client-driven
solutions to our customers.”
ESN stands shoulder to shoulder with its military and government
customers, delivering critical services in engineering and
technical support, strategic and program management, testing
and evaluation, operations support and information technology.
In his new position at ESN, Nichols will work with the Naval
Undersea Warfare Center, Division, Newport, RI, and other DoD
customers to provide solutions on development of combat and
sonar systems for existing and next generation submarines.
He will also provide expertise to ESN’s executive management
team on matters pertaining to procedures, cost estimates, procurement
of services and materials, and business development.
“Dennis’ naval background, security clearance
and knowledge base will enhance the services ESN offers its
clients to meet their mission-critical needs every step of
the way,” Lopez said.
Before joining ESN in 2006, Nichols worked for EG&G Technical
Services Inc., where he supported the Naval Undersea Warfare
Center, Division Newport Combat Systems Department, Code 25
as a senior manager and systems engineer.
During his military career, Nichols served in the U.S. Navy
as a submarine sonar technician. His naval experience includes
working as an electronics technician, field engineer, engineer,
program/project manager, department manager and operations
manager.
He previously worked for Analysis & Technology
Technical Services Inc. and General Dynamics.
Nichols received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
from the University of New Haven in Connecticut and is completing
an executive master’s degree in business administration.
He is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association,
the U.S. Naval Institute and vice president of the Rhode Island
Chapter of the National Contract Management Association.
As director of New England operations, Nichols will continue
to live in Lebanon, CT.
