ESN Wins General Services Administration
VETS Contract ESN today announced that it had officially received an award
on the U.S. General Services Administration Veteran Technology
Services Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (VETS GWAC).
ARLINGTON, VA (February 9, 2007) – The General Services
Administration (GSA) recently notified Engineering Services
Network, Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in engineering and technology
solutions based in Arlington, VA, that it is officially a VETS
GWAC contract awardee.
ESN was one of 43 companies that were awarded the contract.
Last fall, ESN received a pre-award notice, and now they have
received the actual award.
Recently, government officials told ESN that they anticipate
issuing a Notice to Proceed (NTP) with the contract awards
approximately Feb. 1, 2007. They said contract periods of performance
will start the day after the NTP.
ESN will support the Veterans Technology Services, Governmentwide
Acquisition Contract (VETS) (GWAC), a Multiple Award/Indefinite
Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (MA/IDIQ) contract. The contract
provides civilian agencies and the Department of Defense the
ability to obtain a broad range of comprehensive IT support
service in a timely and cost-effective manner.
The GSA contract was awarded under the Federal Supply Services,
Small Business GWAC Center, which was set-aside for service-disabled,
veteran-owned small businesses. ESN is a service-disabled,
veteran-owned company.
The award is significant. ESN, which proudly stands shoulder
to shoulder with its customers, is among only 31 companies
that were given opportunity to provide services in two functional
areas. The two areas are: systems operation and maintenance
and information systems engineering.
The base term of the contract vehicle is five years, with
one, five-year option period. The maximum cumulative dollar
that may be potentially awarded to all contractors combined
is $5 billion.
“We’re pleased to learn that we have been officially
awarded this contract vehicle,” said Daniel Shapiro,
executive vice president of ESN. Said Raymond F. Lopez Jr.,
ESN president and CEO, “We feel this contract will provide
the greatest amount of flexibility possible to efficiently
and effectively support the federal government’s needs
in its daily operations.”
Under the contract, ESN will be a part of this effort and
provide federal government information technology (IT) services
and solutions, ranging from simple IT services to highly complex
solutions. In addition, ESN will provide support in two functional
areas: systems operation and maintenance, plus information
systems engineering. The anticipated services in those two
function areas require a diversity of skills suitable to a
multitude of IT environments in support of a variety of support
areas.
ESN has specific experience in both functional areas, including
database design, administration and data storage, emerging
technologies and independent verification and validation. In
addition, ESN will provide support in system and software design,
development, engineering and integration, IT strategic planning,
program assessment and studies.
ESN teamed with the following subcontractors:
