ESN's Ray Robinson Recognized as Technical Lead

ESN Recognized for ‘Can-do’ Attitude and ‘Excellent Depth of Technical Knowledge’ Under Aircraft Carrier Warfare Systems Support (ACWSS) Contract

ARLINGTON, VA (May 30) – After the Navy recognized ESN for its “can-do” attitude and “excellent depth of technical knowledge” under the Aircraft Carrier Warfare Systems Support (ACWSS) contract, Lockheed Martin, the prime contractor, presented ESN with a Team Award and an Individual Award.

The individual award went to Ray Robinson, a senior systems analyst at ESN. Robinson received the award for his accomplishments as the technical lead for networks, navigation, acoustics and serving as technical support to the other technical leads. The award noted that Robinson has continued to provide outstanding technical and team support with a “positive can-do attitude.”

The awards, announced recently, were presented following ESN’s In Process Review (IPR). The government customer, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren, VA, evaluated the performance of the entire ACWSS team for the performance period of June-November 2006, as detailed during the ACWSS contract. To show its appreciation, Lockheed Martin said it wanted to present ESN a Team Award for its “exceptional work this reporting period adapting to the One Carrier Team concept.” It said ESN has a “can-do” attitude and “has demonstrated an excellent depth of technical knowledge in all areas.”

“We’re more than honored to be given this recognition by Lockheed Martin and NSWC-Dahlgren,” said ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez Jr. “Our team works very hard to carry out its mission, and we appreciate the recognition.”

The IPR noted other ESN accomplishments, including:

• Attended 269 technical meetings, program reviews, working groups, design exchanges
• Provided 108 Action Item Reports and 25 team calendars
• Delivered 67 Conference/Meeting/Trip Reports
• Provided 11 Presentations/Briefings
• Provided 46 Warfare Weekly highlights
• Updated 50 CVN 77 CGDs
• Conducted 2 ship checks
• Conducted 1 Carrier Tech PARM Summit
• Streamlined Monthly Reporting procedure
• Provided MOS administration

The five-year ACWSS contract will continue through 2009, said Laura Reeder, director of contracts at ESN.
