ESN Achieves CMMI Maturity Level
2 Certification
ARLINGTON, VA (June 22, 2010) – Engineering Services
Network Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in technology and engineering
solutions, announced today that it has achieved CMMI® ML
2 for Development Version 1.2.

This rigorous evaluation certifies that ESN’s development
and management processes meet the meticulous standards used
by the Department of Defense and the federal government,” said
ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez, Jr.
ESN performs IT, engineering and business consulting services
for the U.S. military, Veterans Affairs, and other federal
agencies.
The Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) CMMI® ML 2
for Development Version 1.2 is an internationally recognized
rating used throughout the industry as a prerequisite for the
acquisition of military and government programs with significant
systems and software engineering content.
ESN became involved with the CMMI program in May 2008 and achieved
CMMI® ML 2 for Development Version 1.2 in January 2010.
Certification is maintained through appraisals conducted by
a registered outside auditing firm.
To earn the rating, companies must have established well-defined,
repeatable and effective standards for project management,
hardware and software engineering, systems integration and
quality assurance, while maintaining a focus on continual process
improvement.
“To achieve CMMI, projects company-wide are randomly
selected for appraisal,” said Daniel N. Tabor, Corporate
Quality Manager at ESN’s Chesapeake, VA, site.
Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process
improvement program that consists of best practices, which
address development and maintenance activities that cover the
product/service lifecycle from conception through delivery
and maintenance. The program is continually updated to keep
pace with new business practices and technology.

program for training and auditing purposes,” Tabor said.
