ESN
CEO Raymond Lopez to Share His Experience as an Industry Leader
and Navy Veteran at Guam Conference on 8 (a) Firms
ARLINGTON, VA (July 18, 2008) – ESN CEO and President
Raymond F. Lopez Jr. will be a key speaker on building an 8(a)
company and doing business with the U.S. government at a symposium
July 18-19 in Guam.
Lopez will share his story and experiences of building Engineering
Services Network Inc. during the small business symposium July
19 at the Royal Orchid Guam Hotel. Lopez served his country
for more than 29 years before retiring from the Navy and becoming
president and CEO of ESN.
“The government offers many opportunities for small
companies and veteran-owned businesses,” Lopez said. “It
can be hard to navigate in those waters without the insight
and guidance of those who have done so before us. This symposium
aims to bridge that gap so that other companies, too, can succeed.”
Under Lopez’ leadership, ESN has grown from its first
$25,000 task order to a technology leader with more than $22
million in revenue in 2007, on track to earn more than $50
million by 2011.
Also at the conference will be guest speaker Denny Groh, ESN’s
vice president of federal outsourcing who handles ESN’s
VETS GWAC contract with the General Services Administration
(GSA). On July 18, Groh will discuss the 8(a) certification
process and business development strategies.
Groh has more than 35 years of experience in managing acquisition
and IT resources in the public and private sectors. ESN provides
comprehensive technical capabilities covering VETS GWAC’s
two functional areas: systems operation and maintenance and
information systems engineering.
The event is sponsored by the nonprofit G4i Channels. G4i’s
8(a) Marketing Workshop is a two-day event designed to help
small businesses win federal contracts during Guam's military
buildup.
During his trip, Lopez will also meet with Sen. Benjamin “BJ” Cruz
and Sen. Rory J. Respicio of Guam, former Gov. Carl TC Gutierrez
and members of the Guam Economic Development & Commerce
Authority.
