ESN Ranks No. 4515 on the 2010 Inc. 5000 with Three-year Sales Growth of 18%

NEW YORK, August 31, 2010 -- Inc. magazine today ranked ESN No. 4515 on its fourth annual Inc. 5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. ESN is based in Arlington, Va.

The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.”

ESN performs, IT, engineering and business consulting services for the U.S. military, Veterans Affairs, and other federal agencies.

ESN had a 3-year-growth of 18% with 2009 revenue of $25.8 million. In addition, ESN has ranked on the Inc. 5000 list for the last four years.

“Ranking again on the Inc. 5000 List demonstrates how hard the employees work to make sure our customers are covered,” said ESN CEO Raymond F. Lopez, Jr. “We work shoulder to shoulder with the men and women who fight to protect our country.”

The 2010 Inc. 5000, unveiled today on Inc.com, serves as a unique illustration of the profound changes taking place in the U.S. economy. The Government Services sector showed the biggest gain in terms of the number of companies on the list, up 33 percent from last year to 335 companies. Government Services was also the second-fastest-growing sector in terms of median revenue growth, posting a 202 percent gain over the 2006-2009 measuring period. More than half of these companies are based in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Despite the fact that most of this year’s measuring period of 2006-2009 took place during the latest recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year. The effects of the recession are seen, however, in the median three-year growth rate, which dropped to 96 percent from last year’s 126 percent. This year’s Inc. 5000 employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year’s list. With unemployment remaining stubbornly high, policymakers and business leaders will do well to look to the Inc. 5000 companies for fresh ideas on achieving growth and creating jobs.

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found on www.inc.com/5000.

Recently, the Federal Times ranked ESN No. 53 among Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned companies contracting with the federal government. In addition, Inc. magazine named ESN one of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. in 2010, 2009 and 2008, and among the top 100 fastest growing defense contractors in the U.S. in 2007. ESN also was listed in 2010, and 2009, among the top 500 Hispanic-owned companies in the U.S. ESN is also ISO 9001:2008 certified and has achieved CMMI® ML 2 for Development Version 1.2.
