Navy Enlists ESN for Security
Strategies
Arlington, VA – (Sept. 18, 2006) – Engineering
Services Network, Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in engineering
and technology solutions based in Arlington, VA, announced
today that the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, (SPAWAR),
Charleston has awarded the company $5.8 million in support
of the Naval Network Warfare Command.
ESN, which has a long history in defense support of U.S. forces
and global security, will provide technical and subject-matter
experts to the Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM), President
and CEO Raymond F. Lopez Jr. said. ESN is a service disabled
veteran owned company that proudly stands shoulder to shoulder
with its customers.
“SPAWAR, Charleston selected ESN to deliver mission-critical
solutions, because accurate information is critical in ensuring
our ships and sailors have the best equipment and support possible,” Lopez
said. “At ESN, we have a deep fountain of knowledge and
experience in combat systems, both ashore and afloat, and we
use that expertise to empower our naval fleet and help keep
secure the men and women who defend our country.”
The U.S. military and government count on ESN as a valued
and trusted partner that delivers mission-critical services
in five key areas: engineering and technical support; strategic
and program management; testing and evaluation; operations
support; and information technology.
ESN’s SPAWAR, Charleston contract is valued at more
than $1 million annually, with one base year and four option
years, for a total of $5.8 million.
ESN’s work supporting type commanders and the fleet’s
Deploying Group System Interoperability Testing Program will
provide significant exposure and insight to NETWARCOM by, ensuring
the information used in making critical equipment and program
decisions is accurate and up-to-date.

the challenges of their day-to-day operations and deliver practical

that is easy to use and understand so our clients can make
informed decisions and develop strategies for advancement and

Under the SPAWAR, Charleston contract, ESN experts will apply
their technological and management knowledge to assist NETWARCOM
in completing its mission. That mission includes: to act as
the Navy’s central operational authority for space, information
technology requirements, network and information operations
in support of naval forces afloat and ashore; to operate a
secure and interoperable naval network that will enable effects-based
operations and innovation; to coordinate and assess the Navy
operational requirements for and use of network/command and
control/information technology/information operations and space;
and to serve as the operational forces’ advocate in the
development and fielding of information technology, information
operations and space.
In addition, the contract might generate job opportunities. “There
is a possibility of up to five new support positions being
added to support the contract,” said Paul Barber, vice
president of ESN’s Southeast Region in Chesapeake, VA.
ESN’s customers include the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S.
Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, Military Sealift Command, Department
of Health and Human Services and other federal agencies.
