ESN Awarded GSA Contract Vehicle to Provide IT Know-How to VETS GWAC, Department of Defense

ARLINGTON, VA (Oct. 23, 2006) – Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), a trusted leader in engineering and technology solutions based in Arlington, VA, has won a GSA schedule contract.

The U.S. General Services Administration contract was awarded under the Federal Supply Services, Small Business GWAC (Government wide Acquisition Center). The award was set-aside for service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses. ESN is a service-disabled, veteran-owned company.

About 380 companies applied for the schedule contract; ESN was one of 45 that received pre-award notices. ESN, which proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with its customers, is also among the only 38 that were given opportunity to provide services in two functional areas: systems operation and maintenance and information systems engineering.

The base term of the contract vehicle is five years, with one, five-year option period. The maximum cumulative dollar that may be potentially awarded to all contractors combined is $5 billion.

“This contract is designed to provide the greatest amount of flexibility possible to efficiently and effectively support the federal government’s needs in its daily operations, its protection of infrastructure, the fight against terrorism and the development and marketing of emerging technologies,” ESN President and CEO Raymond F. Lopez Jr. said.

Under the new GSA contract, ESN will support the Veterans Technology Services, Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (VETS) (GWAC), a Multiple Award/Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (MA/IDIQ) contract. The contract provides civilian agencies and the Department of Defense the ability to obtain a broad range of comprehensive IT support service in a timely and cost-effective manner.

ESN will be a part of this effort and provide federal government information technology (IT) services and solutions, ranging from simple IT services to highly complex solutions. In addition, ESN will provide support in two functional areas: systems operation and maintenance, plus information systems engineering. The anticipated services in those two function areas require a diversity of skills suitable to a multitude of IT environments in support of a variety of support areas.

ESN has specific experience in both functional areas, including database design, administration and data storage, emerging technologies and independent verification and validation. In addition, ESN will provide support in system and software design, development, engineering and integration, IT strategic planning, program assessment and studies.
