COMPUTER OPERATOR AND HELP DESK LEVEL TWO
Education and General Professional Experience: High
School/Vocational School diploma or GED Certificate with three (3) years of
work related experience. Associated
degree preferred. Expected Expertise / capabilities: Processes
scheduled routines that present few difficult operating problems (e.g.,
infrequent or easily resolved error conditions). In response to output instructions or error
conditions, applies standard operating or correcting procedure. Refers problems that do not respond to
preplanned procedure. From
charts, narrative descriptions of the functions performed, an approved
statement of the product desired, and the inputs, outputs, and record formats…reviews
objectives and assignment details with higher level staff to ensure thorough
understanding; uses judgment in selecting among authorized procedures and
seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are
proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise. Assists
in the analysis of local and wide area network systems evaluating and
selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring
communications media with devices.
Assists with resolving routine inter-operability problems to obtain
operations across platforms including e-mail, files transfers, electronic
business transactions. Configures
routine systems to user environments. Supports standard hardware and software
services as needed. Supports,
monitors, tests and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining
to LAN; Maintains computer system hardware and peripherals. Additional
Experience: A
total of one (1) year of cumulative specialized experience in Life Cycle
