ESN in the Spotlight at MergerMarket Media in New York
ARLINGTON, VA – March 23, 2015 – The CEO of Engineering Services Network, Inc. (ESN), a leader in engineering and technology solutions, was recently interviewed for an article in New York-based Merger Market Media.
According to its website, “Mergermarket is a business development tool designed specifically for the M&A sector. It provides proprietary intelligence and analysis on corporate strategy across the world.”
The article on ESN was entitled, “Engineering Services Network seeks partners, M & A at bay for now, CEO says.”
ESN CEO Raymond F. Lopez, Jr., said “ESN is looking for joint venture partners that will better position it in the hunt for government contracts.”
“With a focus on joint ventures, the executive said ESN is holding off on acquisitions over the next 12 months.”
“The privately held Arlington, Virginia-based engineering services company has close to USD40m in revenue,” said Mr. Lopez.
ESN is known in the industry for providing military and civilian government customers with mission-critical services in engineering and technical support, strategic and program management, testing and evaluation, operations support and information technology. The company celebrated 20 years in business.
The article further states that “ESN is currently in talks with a niche medical IT company on a joint venture.” Mr. Lopez declined to identify the company but did note that ESN has a presence in information assurance, IT and cyber security.
According to the article, “Mr. Lopez said through a joint venture, ESN will have more flexibility to pursue contracts and gain a presence in the Defense Health Agency (DHA). The Department of Defense established the DHA in 2013 to manage the activities of the Military Health System.”
In July, ESN announced the appointment of Dan Shapiro as CFO. Shapiro, who joined the company in 1998, was previously ESN’s COO. The announcement also highlighted ESN’s interest in expanding through mergers and acquisitions.
Since then, Mr. Lopez said the company's growth strategy has shifted due to the defense budget climate.
ESN uses BB&T as its financial advisor, with Odin Feldman & Pittleman acting as legal counsel, Mr. Lopez said. The article was written by senior writer Richard Tekneci. More on MergerMarket can be found at: http://www.mergermarket.com/info/category/news/
